Last year, when I decided to become a full-time fashion blogger I knew it would be an interesting journey that required a lot of hard work and dedication. Of course I was right! However, through the journey I’ve met some amazing people and joined some great networks, such as Blogger Babes. When the opportunity presented itself to become a part of the Blogger Babes Blog Tour I knew it would be a great chance for fellow bloggers to learn as much as they could from the ladies who started the company; hence this guest post by Ponn Sabra.

Professional Blogger Needs a Plan and a Plan of Action

This post is a part of a month-long Blogger Babes blog tour which began here. To read this post in-context, we recommend starting at the beginning–then hop along with us for the full journey.

According to Yanni D, 2015 is “game time” for her as she transitions her blog into a full-time job. That was never my intention a decade ago, but opportunities fell on my lap as the years passed and made it into the profession I truly adore.

In Yanni D’s year, she became a Blogger Babes member and learned about the possibility of hosting our blog tour through Delaila, our Publicity Manager. One “key” to turning one’s blog into a profession is identifying and seizing opportunities for growth.

Blog Regularly and Build Multiple Streams of Passive Income

So, to share in the lessons, my biggest tip to Yanni D and you (a blogger eager to make a living blogging) is: blog regularly in you unique voice and build multiple streams of passive income right from the start. It’s definitely a process, and without the proper guidance, one can become frustrated in the hard work with little to no gain. That’s why Blogger Babes exist. Heidi, my partner and fashion blogger at The Ambitionista, are committed to helping you cut down on the learning curve and start bringing home bank, sooner than later.

Now, in order to build the multiple streams of income, you need to have a platform (your blog), an audience (your reader) and then build your back-end, the very first being an email list. Content is still king, and money remains in the list. So, let’s tackle the harder of the two:

Planning your Blog and Working Your Plan.

Create a plan and use a blogging calendar

It’s most helpful to set aside some time for brainstorming your blog topics ahead of time. This will help you to establish a writing habit, and give you at least a head start on the days when life gets busy.

When you’ve planned your blog topics ahead of time it will help you to:

  • Make a mental note to be on the lookout for images that will complement your post
  • Make note of useful research links
  • Brainstorm related topics
  • Look for opportunities to reach out to experts and possibly get a great quote from them
  • Read related material

By following this method, you’ll reduce much of the stress that goes into blog planning and writing. We created Your Blogging Calendar available in the eKit just for you.

Want to take your blog to the next level and grab your blogging calendar?

The above is a bonus tip and excerpt from our debut “21 Fast and Simple Tips to Write Blog Posts Faster” Guide, one of seven documents in our comprehensive Blogger Monthly Tutorials launching on May 1st. Great about keeping an editorial calendar Caroline but building multiple income streams is the key to a sustainable business model. That’ll be eKit#3 in July 2015. 😉
