Happy Wednesday loves! It is imperative that we dive into a MAJOR pet peeve of mine…

Boob-Gap!

I know I know….this is something that 90% of women have struggled with or will struggle with, but my million dollar question is why? As a stylist I know how hard it is to find the perfect button down that covers, yet accentuates the girls nicely. I’ve personally been guilty of struggling with that annoying gap that occurs when I do wear a button down, BUT although it can be challenging it is not impossible to fix.

YES! There are solutions and I am here to lay out 4 of the ones that have worked for me.

  • A minimizer – Minimizers do exist and they are an instant fix depending on the type of minimizer you wear. Visual Effects Minimizer Bra is a great option from Wacoal. It can reduce your bust line up to 1 inch. I use this bra as a go-to for my button down shirts because it gives me an instant streamlined look.                                                WacoalVisualEffects, Minimizer, Bra, Solutions,Wardrobe, WardrobeSolutions, Boobgap,BustyImages: Wacoal America
  • Braza Double Stick Flash Tape or Topstick Strips – Essentially both of these are double sided tape and they work one in the same. This particular tape is a quick fix solution typically used to keep a piece of material (clothes, wigs, etc) close to the body. The end result we are always striving for is to look well put together and sticking a piece of this tape on a button down helps to ensure the buttons lay perfectly. I own both tapes, but my go-to would be the topstick strips. I typically make a trip once a year to Manhattan Wardrobe Supply and I stack up on all my things such as double sided tape for the year, but double sided tape for clothing can be found anywhere. • Go up a size – Going up a size in a button down (depending on the fit) will make a difference. Having a bit more pull on the material will help to keep the gap closed. The same notion applies with a tailor.
  • Get a Tailor – A tailor will be able to alter the button down to fit your proportions.
