A few days ago I had the pleasure of attending Lord & Taylor’s #Shoesfirst party with the fabulous Nina Garcia, Creative Director for Marie Claire Magazine and Project Runway judge. Nina surrounded herself with a ton of fashionable shoppers and gave expert advice on the art of shoe shopping as we all lusted after the latest spring styles Lord & Taylor had to offer.
I attended the event with my blogger boo Delaila Catalino, founder of M3 Glam, and we mixed and mingled with fellow bloggers and fashionistas. Platters of delicious sweets and refreshing drinks were served and we got the opportunity to talk and even take a photo with Nina herself.
I CANNOT even express how excited I was to meet Nina Garcia. She even complimented me on my nails which confirmed her great taste :-).
I have adored and respected her for years and it was really a special moment to be able to finally meet her. Not only have I followed her career through Marie Claire, but as an avid fan of Project Runway I constantly find that we are always in line with our critiques. When watching the show everyone thinks they are a judge including myself. Nina is really down to earth, fashionable, smart and a go-getter. She says exactly what is on her mind and I really respect that.
In my opinion, the event was a success for Lord & Taylor and Marie Claire. I hope to meet Nina again at another function where I can really talk to her some more. I am sure her advice and tips are invaluable. Until then, It’s time to rack up on spring styles and Lord & Taylor is a great place to start.
After all, who doesn’t LOVE a great pair of heels?
