Recently, I went to dinner with a dear friend who is also the founder and CEO of BY feliceAdri, an up and coming limited luxe jewelry collection. Clearly, we have our love for jewelry in common. I am a jewelry whore, as I like to affectionately describe myself and she’s a jewelry designer with a fantastic eye for custom stones and design. Whenever we hang out our days are spent browsing through the fashion district for new materials or shopping and examining what we like and dislike about jewelry we see in the stores. Fun times!

Anyways, this last time we hung out we were talking about jewelry and how much is too much. Now in my world a girl can never have on too much jewelry; however, wearing too much jewelry can be a blurry line between tasteful and plain ol’ tacky.

Nowadays style has evolved so much that there is no longer a set “rule” on wearing jewelry or wearing anything for that matter. People should wear what they feel comfortable in and look good in right? Agreed, owning what they are wearing is a MUST, but editing is not a bad thing.

Sometimes people do not wear enough jewelry to enhance a look and sometimes people wear too much. This topic of to jewel or not to jewel has been on my mind for a few days now. One day, as I was getting ready for work, I felt extremely basic or rather as basic as a fashionista could be. My friends are convinced we define that word differently in reference to fashion. Nonetheless, I was feeling plain and I knew the only thing that would enhance my look was jewelry. In this particular situation it only took a statement piece, my gold floral collar necklace, to jazz up my look.

However, that is not always the case. Knowing what jewelry pieces to wear for certain occasions will help you enhance a look in no time. Here are some jewelry combinations, that can be mixed and matched. These pieces are chic enough to wear from day to night and although some of them are subtle they all make a statement, worn alone or together.
