MaraHoffman, NYFW, SP16, Style, Fashion, Prints, Americana, RTWLast season, for reasons out of my control, I missed Mara Hoffman’s F15 runway show. Disappointed was an understatement, but I made it a priority to attend this season and I was far from disappointed. Mara’s inspiration this season stemmed from musician, Willie Nelson, incorporated with her personal twist on modern Americana. The show kicked off with a blue skies backdrop as the song by Willie Nelson, “Blue Skies” played. The models delightfully ranged in cultures with signature waist length braids as an ode to Mr. Nelson.

MaraHoffman, NYFW, SP16, Style, Fashion, Prints, Americana, RTWEach look came equipped with a matching bandanna as a head piece and the playful palette of prints ranged from blue skies/clouds to rainbows. Aside from prints the collection included a sprinkle of solid colored pastel looks. Although, Hoffman is known for beautiful exotic prints, this collection was more subdued as a whole which was pleasantly surprising.

MaraHoffman, NYFW, SP16, Style, Fashion, Prints, Americana, RTWIt was refreshing to see that she could bring zest with her bold prints, but also show us another side with pastels and still stick to her feminine aesthetic. The collection was filled with appropriately placed cut outs on maxi dresses, slouchy overall and boxy suits with a tomboy feel and button-down shirts with exaggerated open shoulders.

MaraHoffman, NYFW, SP16, Style, Fashion, Prints, Americana, RTWI absolutely ogled just about every piece in the collection with a MUST HAVE stamp of approval for spring 2016, but a few pieces stood out the most to me. Look 20, the floral tie front maxi dress absolutely took my breath away and look 24, the wheat embroidered brushed twill bandeau jumpsuit truly gave me life. I also adored look 25, the wheat embroidered brushed twill tuxedo jacket with button up top and high waist trouser along with the look 37 a pastel striped jacquard open shoulder jumpsuit. I died LITERALLY!

Songstress Justine Skye was in attendance, as well as, elite fashion blogger Aimee Song and the beautiful Quann twins – TK & Cipriana. I was able to get a photo with the tall beauties (clearly I’m the shortest one).
