Happy Tuesday! This past weekend I spent some much needed quality time with some of my family. I have a huge family so it really is impossible to spend time with everyone on a consistent basis. However, I was able to hang with a few of them on a road trip to Baltimore, Maryland for a boat ride. The theme was denim and it was 5 hours of everyone enjoying themselves and loving life. I had a great time just being with my wonderful crazy family and of course I love any opportunity I get to showcase my look of the day.

Since it was a denim theme I opted for a dark denim-like sweetheart skater dress with cut outs, ankle strap orange wedges, a printed gold clutch and I completed the look with some cream and gold accessories.

Denim 2ndI saw this adorable dress about a month or so back and knew it would be perfect for the occasion. The fit is what I loved most about it. The sweetheart neckline, placement of the cut outs and the addition of tulle under it gave the dress an extra lift that made me feel girly and sexy at the same time.

Close Up DenimWe all know denim looks good with just about any color, but I wanted to move away from the expected red, cobalt blue and yellow hues. So I paired my look with these never been worn orange ankle strap wedges that I’ve had for over a year now. Surprisingly, they were more comfortable than I thought they would be. Wedges are a great shoe choice for boat ride parties because they give you the height you want without going overboard (no pun intended). My cream and gold necklace is also a piece I’ve had for over a year and never wore which is why I was delighted it worked for this look. To finish off my jewelry, I added cream triangle earrings, a chevron cuff, stacked bangles (which I am obsessed with) and I even tried to do a side braid with my Marley twist that came out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Thoughts on my denim inspired look?
