I cannot believe we are already in September. It feels like yesterday we were in the beginning of summer and now it is coming to an end. This week is New York Fashion Week and the fashion industry has been busy getting things in order for runway shows and events.

Throughout my career in the industry I’ve had the pleasure of working backstage, as well as, attending and doing some show coverage. I really have a good grasp on what to wear back and front stage during the most fashionable month of the year.

As a backstage fashionista, whether you are a wardrobe dresser or public relations girl, black is a staple must-wear piece. Being able and expected to wear black should come with a sigh of relief. However, how do you wear black in a chic efficient way that still allows you to express your individuality, be comfortable and get the job done?

Here are some looks that will inspire you to look your best working backstage in ANY capacity. Trust me, I’ve been there.

Wardrobe Dresser, Makeup Artist, Hair Stylist, Back of House Assistant, etc
