Even though happy hour networking events take place year round I always feel like I get invites all at once for events in January. New Year, new opportunities and everyone is reaching out to connect. However, we all have our days where finding the perfect ensemble for work and happy hour can be challenging.

Here are two client inspired looks to help provide options for those challenging days…

This burgundy floral overlay dress has an interesting pattern. It is a combination of structure and chicness which is a great option for an after work event. Pairing this with a pastel swing coat softens the look and it provides a nice transition from winter to spring. The same applies to a peep toe bootie. Adding stockings helps take this shoe into several seasons. Lastly, this look is complimented with a classic tote bag and statement silver jewelry for an appropriate stand out ensemble.

Personally I think a midi pleated or flare skirt is essential for a women’s wardrobe. It is classic, chic and will never go out of style. Some women, especially shorter gals, distance themselves from midi skirts fearing the fit would not do them justice. Speaking for short gals everywhere, I completely disagree. Everything is about fit. Finding the perfect midi skirt (tailor if necessary) can prove to be perfection.

For this look, the green pleated midi skirt is the focus piece. Pairing it with a structured tailored shirt with sheer insert and quilted bronze pumps compliments the skirt nicely. Finishing with a few statement pieces and a stand out bag make this look ideal for work and  anything after.
